Can anyone recommend a head lamp for night fishing, the ones that fit around your head?

Thanx,

I bought a Petzel about 10 years ago and I am still using it. I will buy another when the time comes - great product

don't go cheap as the one I bought eats batteries and will pay more in the long run.

Check out the Princeton LED head-lamp. I think they sell them on this site. They are awesome, I wear mine all the time, lights up a good area and the batteries last forever. Right around 30 bucks I think.

I found a 4-led head lamp at Gaylans last year. It's super bright and normal use will bring 70's hours of light. (So they say) It's really bright and good for lighting up close quaters. The manufacture is Black Diamond. The battery pack is on the back which helps displace the weight rather well. It has a little button to click on or off. Two of my friends use them and we all love it. The price is about 35.

I am really happy with a $13 Ray O Vac Head Lamp that Is LED and Red LED and Regular Flash Light, It is a great deal for the Money and when Running on LED only is good for 150 Hours, The Red LED helps prevent Night blind problems. You should be able to pick one up in the Sporting Goods Department at WalMarts

I agree the princeton tec Aurora is one sweet headlamp. It has five setting L,M,H and two flashing, one slow and one fast. The batteries last a long time. 160 hours on low if I am not mistaken. Would highly recommend one!

The Princton tec Aurora is a sweet little unit for close in work to about 30 ft. For the best of both worlds the new Petzl MYO3 and MYO5 have the same led setup with the addition of a xenon lamp which will illuminate from 30 ft on flood up to 100 yds. on spotlight setting.

The absolute best headlamp on the market for fishing is the Black Diamond Moonlight. It cost $35.00 at Gaylans. The light uses 4 LED’s and takes 3 AAA batteries. The batteries last a long time and I have not seen another LED light that is brighter than it. Another nice feature, is the balanced design. The batteries mount in the back, which balances the headlamp perfectly. I promise you will not be disappointed with it. It's hands down, the best light for fishing.

I would definatley go with the Browning head lamp they are found at most sporting good stores. they are super bright last long and they run about 28 dollars, once you use a head lamp you wonder why you waited so long to buy one. You will have no regrets buying a nice head lamp, just dont go and buy a cheap one.

Priceton LED is my first and only choice. I have two, one with the 3 led and one with 7. I like the 3 light better. Perfect lighting. Battery power has not been an issue as it says it last 170hrs. Today I would say I have to believe that. Still going!

You can get more info on the Princeton Tec by CLICKING HERE

They are very sweet units. kwkfsh probably has the most realistic appraisal of the lights out there.

Black Diamond...they're ok, but they are NOT hands down the best out there.

I still think the Moonlight runs circles clean around all of the Princeton lights available at Gander, Gaylens, etc.. The reason I say that, the thing is so bright.

The Princeton's are only good for close work. With the moonlight, you can use it for so much more.

My father and good friend have a Princeton. They don't have half the brightness.
