Yesterday I drove up to the hiway 4 bridge which crosses minnesota river, I icefish some areas up there, The river is flowing wide open ,Its going to take 2 good weeks of cold weather to make any good ice, current is so strong yet.Hopefully by next weekend I will be able to hit some of the new ulm area lakes. THINK ICE.... frown.gif

Nope no ice anywhere, the lakes arent looking any better. Checked Clear on tuesday and there was about 2 inches for about 100 ft then it was wide open, doesnt sounds good unless it gets real real cold for a few days and its calm.

What lakes are you planning on fishing around new ulm, i most fish Clear and Hanska, but i was thinking of trying Gibbon (Clear) this year also since i have been hearing ok reports.

Just got done looking at the national weather service forcast and it looks like a nother big warm up for southern minnesota by the end of this week, no really cold weather in site, I found this weather forcast to be pretty accurate, but who knows, maybe betwwen christmas and newyears we will get some good ice.

We were out to about the where the weedpoint is, straight out from the landing, 6ft to maybe 6 1/2, be careful if you go out, stay away from the cattails because there is a few springs that come in and from what i have found there is only about 2 inches of ice past the point out there but there may be more now. About the deepest you will find is 7 ft out there. Also if you get about a block out from the landing it drops off to about 5 and then slopes to 6 and basically stays there. We plan on going out saterday afternoon again.
