fishing the 13-15 at Arnesons,??

We're booked to stay at Arnesons' Dec.12-15 and have them haul us out to their houses. What are the chances of this happening?? I called them Sat. and talked to a couple guys there that were really non-commital.

I think you will have a better chance of wetting a line in the Baudette area. You may want to start checking resorts over there, or reschedule for later. It's 28 degrees here again today, with similar temps forecast the rest of the week , so it's not looking good for making ice very quickly.

thanks for the info wj. I was afraid of that. Arnesons' resort is somewhat exposed on the point and generally are a little later getting good ice.

You can find some ice to the east of there though.

My dad had just talked to Arensen's this past Sat and the lake had finally just froze over there so I doubt they will be going then. As others suggested try by Baudette that is the place that usually has ice first.

I'm scheduled up there that same time frame. I talked to Arneson's on Tuesday and they had went out and found 6" of ice. They said they would like to see 8" before they start to move out the houses. They are not cancelling that time frame (13th-15th) yet. Were going to call again on Friday.

Just heard from Arnesons' this pm that we are good to go for fishing 13-15th! Barring a big wind or something to break up the ice, sounds like will start to pull out houses tomarrow-

That is great I am glad to hear that they will be getting started. Great place on the lake to fish that is for sure. I always make it out of their place 1 a year.
