ice across to pine?

I'm plannin on comin up from Bemidji on Sat morn.the 11th. I want to get across four mile bay to the other side of pine. I'm wonderin what the ice conditions are now from Wheelers point to Pine island. I looked at Wheelers point resort web page and they said they are planning on day houses on the lake late this week and sleepers by the weekend. Is this a realistic forecast? To many conflicting reports I just wanna get my four wheeler and portable across.I cant sleep at night and my nerves are shot!

From the sounds of it you'll probably get out somewhere on the east side this weekend. I would call the resorts later in the week to find out if they are allowing folks on the ice.

I was out on the bay tonight and saw a 4-wheeler come back in over Pine. We found 4-5" consistently out in 4-mile bay and the temp is currently at 9F. Should make ice tonight. I am going over Pine with 4-wheeler tomorrow. Considered pulling a 6X8 permanent out with me but think I will wait till next week. You can sleep well tonight.
