Nice! I just mixed up 1 1/2 gallons of Bloody as well. Hope everyone is thirsty. grin.gif Steve I also got three Gift Certificates for giveaways as well.

It is gonna be really chilly, whats the law on fires on the ice? I can grab some kindling from work if this is a viable option.

Quick we'll see you up there.

Cheffrey save the wood we will warm up by the webber if needed. Fires are not legal as far as I know. Considered polution or littering I believe.

Hey guys dont forget to buy your bait for tomorrow from Tim at Highbanks when you get there! He told me a few minutes ago he just got some fresh Fatheads and Light Pike all set up for us! Please give Tim your bussiness he has really gone out of his way to help this thing out with his donation of some door prizes.

Well i hope you fellas save me a little bloody mary. grin.gif but i might be a little late cause my explorer crapped out on me. If i get it running, i'll be out as soon as i finish my 8am final, but if not, i'll have to wait until noon or so, and ride out with berry (and be shackless frown.gif ) Either way i'll see ya on the ice tomorrow.

Well it was a bussy, COLD, fun day. Fishing was slow till the dusk bite according to BD110 who finally took off the bobber and started jigging. Good job Tom.

It was nice to see all of the old faces and plenty of new. The weather kept a lot of people away but we still had a good 40 people or so out there.

A BIG THANKS to Tim at Highbanks Resort for making us all feel at home. Tim thanks for the gloves, I think Ill be buying more from ya for X-mas gifts. Give me a call when they come in please.

Cheffrey Im sorry you couldnt get out today! I hope you start to feel better! Also a Big Thanks to Cheffrey and The Grand Superior Lodge for some fantastic certificates and the food and beverage. If you havent been to the Grand Superior you are really missing out!

Again thanks to JR's Tackle, Stone Legacy, Todays Tackle, Soderbloom Inc. and The Bait Box for their donations.

Mickey at Twin Ports Recreation and Rental donated a snowmobile and Trailer for us to shuttle people back and forth with and that was very much appreciated. See them for any motor repair or recreational rentals. 715-392-5867. On a cold windy day like today walking to where we were really wasnt a option.

I had a blast gang and even though conditions were tough I believe it was worth while just to be able to hang out and enjoy some good company. We have to do it again later in the year. Maybe on the St.Louis River?

Northlander,

Thanks for all the hard work. Did you happen to notice the pick-up truck and car out on the ice on your way back to high banks. I was giong by at a good clip but it looked like the truck pulled out a permanent shelter. I didn't see more then 6 inches of ice where we were fishing. I just thought it was interesting to say the least. wink.gif

Thanks again,

Tom (BD110)

AJ

The guy that went through was in a truck trying to plow a road and ended up going through three inches of ice. It is always a tragedy to hear about someone going through, but the ice can be really dangerous if you don't respect it. It sounds like you guys all had a good time and I wish I could have been there but I will try to make it the next time.

The guys on Fish are nuts! Stay off of the lakes with Vehicles! There isnt enough ice yet! Problem will be people see 1 fool out there then they asssume its ok and drive out. They may have only been pulling the house out to the shoreline so they could pull it out with a wheeler but Tim said the guy told him he would use his truck! Stupid!

The man on Vermillion was making a ice road with a Track Vehicle. Seems a bit early to me but Im not on Vermillion every day like those guys.

Please guys dont drive your vehicles on the ice yet. We only found 10-12" by Airplane Island. Its a protected area with little wind or current going threw there. The rest of the lake seemed to be 6-8". Thats not enough for vehicles. By next weekend smaller cars etc. should be ok. Be safe.

The guy pulled up right next to me, outdoor nut, I'lltakewhatcanget, and lakewinds, and i swear the ice dropped an inch. pretty scary when someone puts everybody else at risk by driving into a large group of people. confused.gif

Exactly! Its bad enough your stupid enough to risk your own life but then you drive up on people and risk theres? STUPID! Ill call Tim and tell him to please keep vehicles off the ice until next weekend.

Is he liable for anything that happens to people if he charges them to drive off his landing and they fall threw?

I am not sure the exact law on it but I would be willing to bet that if someone did go threw they would be able to at least get some money out of a lawsuit with him. We have seen people get money for spilling coffee on themselves at McDonald's and a burglar get money for falling on a knife when he went through a sky light. In this time of crazy lawsuits it would definitlely be in his best interest to keep them off of his landing. Not to mention the potential loss of life that we really don't need to see happen. Northlander give Tim the heads up, I would say it is something he needs to be careful of.

I talked to Tim and he said thats one of the 1st things he checked into. From what he said it is driver beware and he isnt responsable for what happens to them on the lake.

With that in mind stay off the lakes in a vehicle for at least another week! Stay safe and good fishing.

Thanks to all for a great time! It was nice to finally meet up with some of the guys from the FM community. We were even able to catch a few fish with 6 smaller eyes, 2 pike, a nice fat gill, and 3 perch. Once again, great job Northlander and all of those involved in the getting this gathering set up.

AJ, I have your prizes so I we will have to hook up one of these days.
