I am new to this forum but have checked it from time to time and finally have registed to talk to some of you guys. Thx for the invite Northlander but I no longer live in your area we moved to Se Mn when I was just a kid. I am going to bring the family up over new years though and try some of the lakes in the area. That's why I was after info on Grand. I'd heard it was a pretty fair panfish lake. icetime welcome to this forum it is the greatest1 as for big grand lake near twig. it is fairly active for ice fishing. its a pretty shallow lake with lots of action. walleyes, crappies perch lg mouth bass northerns and pan fish. if you go take hwy 53 to twig turn lest on co 7 which takes a sharp curve to the right. go till you come to mcgraggor take a left it take you right in to lake. two weeks ago the ice was only 3inches. watch this site for ice reports or e-mail me. at jnbnelson at charter dot net use the address the normal way. I have a starcraft tent trailer converted into a hard side house. with an american flag on it we are about in 10 to 14 fow. when you enter the lake look abour 10 oclock 3 blocks out we will be in that area if there is enough ice for the perminent house. I will be at Highbanks by 7 at the latest, and be happy to haul out your stuff via sled. I pull an otter magnum house behind it and can maybe just tie yours on top or pull it behind the otter depending on what type of house/stuff ya got. I'll be in a green toyota and green indy trail sled.

I want to get out with ya on the lake this saturday but am in kind of a pickle. I would have no problem finding a ride out there seeing as I have to go a little late due to a morning final, but the only way that I could make an appearance is if I had a way to get back to UMD by 3:30 in order to take another final. Yeah 2 finals on a Sat. It kind of sucks , but what are you going to do? So if any of you guys are planning on heading back early or have to for some reason and have room for another guy let me know.

i can get out tommorrow around 11:30 but once again i have to be back by 6:00, and i would love to get out since it sounds like the weather will once again be pretty comfortable. i lucked out when it comes the the gathering on sat considering all my finals are at the end of next week. Deepdiver, thanks for the offer, but i think we're gonna need the big Weber this weekend. it would be nice however if someone bringing a shack or sled along could help me get it out on the ice.

Alright, pulled 30 Veni Brats out of deep freeze last night, Got the buns from work, Nut Brown Ale is ordered and will arrive tommorrow, Anyone want to bring some ketchup and mustard? I am shooting for being there at 7am on Sat. Quick you can toss the grill in my voyageur and we can tag team it out to the spot unless you are coming later. Good times will be had!

Granny, the ice should be fine, There was at least 6 inches out there today. I got 2 eyes and some perch. Saw all the fish on the camara. It was fun watching the fish come in. The fishing was better during the day and slowed towards dark. The eyes were there towards dark though, because every time I turned on the night viewing lights I saw a walleye in the area. The biggest of the 2 that I caught during the day came in and chased off a smaller sniffer that I couldn't convert. and then came back and hammered my spoon. Pretty cool to see, My fiancee loved it. SalmonOasis, Head north on Canoisa rd to Twig. Cross hwy 53 and turn right onto Industrial rd. Go down Industrial about a mile to the stop sign. Take a left there onto Munger Shaw rd. Stay on that road, you'll cross the river twice. Look for a Water Access sign just after a left bend in the road. Turn right there, if you go to far you'll hit the Minnowette. Look for a parking lot on the left hand side of the road, if you go to far you'll be at the damm.

Salmon oasis take Midway rd #13 cross over hwy 53 at pike lake. go strate till you get to Midway Rd turn Left go to Lavaque Rd turn right on lavaque its a long ways to the next turn . you will go over a bridge at fish lake keep going till you get to fishlake rd (co rd 43) turn left go till you come to fishlake dam rd ( cr 285) take a left go till you get to Hi Banks Resort. its on the left the parking lot will probably be full. P.S. if lavaque is closed from construction stay on Martin till you get to rice lake rd ( co Rd 4) turn left go till you come to emerson rd ( cr 43) follow it till you get to fish lake dam rd.
