Andy you missed it. We absolutely didnt do shoot! Few dinkers and a big pike broke me off on my 3 pound test but really boring. It was a LONG day. Then ST wouldnt let me leave highbanks till he was full! grin.gif

So how was the get together guys? Absolutely no ice down here in the St.Cloud area. All the wind we got today really opened things up.

Northlander,

You guys willing to accomodate a few more? Myself and "Crappie King" are interested, but we both have never fished FISH lake before...anyone willing to point a few lost souls in the right direction? haha

Northlander,

I am assuming you are talking about Fish lake just north of Duluth. confused.gif I am yet to make it to one of these FM gatherings do to scheduling conflicts, but My dad and I would be interested in going if there is more room on the ice for us. It sounds like quite the fun time.

With these cold temps a guy should be to able to venture out past Crappie Village this weekend.

Bring your sleds and wheelers.

It was nice to get out and meet a few more FMers and fish with a old acquaintances. Fishing was slow Saturday and most fish where caught on my Fish-n-Brother tipup. I did manage to take a couple eyes home for late supper. Northlander was in a generous mood and gave a way my JR's 8 LED flashlight in the bar. I think I still have most my tackle left though. grin.gif Steve, leave a flashlight for me would ya.

Is anyone bringing out a grill? I have a mess of Venison Brats to burn up smirk.gif (no pun intended) I'll bring the fixings along to if somebody has a small grill?

I've got a full size weber we could bring, it shouldn't be too terribly difficult to figure a way to get it out there. The only thing that worries me is that cheffrey might get a little distracted from his fishing, and will miss out on many chances to let walleyes get away from him at the hole

blush.gif

I've got a final at 8, and i'll be heading out right after that, if the grill needs to be there sooner, i can send it with someone else, but otherwise i should be there around 9:30 or 10:00. Sounds like we'll have a good crowd, and a great time.

I've got a full size weber also, and deepdiver has a full size and a smaller grill so we should be ok once we decide who has to carry the thing onto the ice! grin.gif anyways, i have nothing going on tommorrow morning and afternoon, anyone want to go out??? I already know you want to walleye king. blush.gif

I plan on making an apperance. Couple questions: Is there an offical FM radio channel again this season? How much ice is out there right now?

Outdoornut,

I know in past outings we have used channel 7 with no subchannel. Sounds like the ice should be in better shape by saturday, i bet 8"+ and the forecasted temps look nice to be on the ice saturday.

I'll bring a few veni burgers to throw on the grill too.

If it looks like the ice is in decent-enough shape I may dump the sled at the landing. If anyone is out later this week let us know if folks are using the landing at the dam to head out. Thanks smile.gif

AJ,

Granny wants to meet up somewhere on sat. morning, send me an email and we can figure out who's doing what. What time is the "bash" officially kicking off?

Northlander,

Since you are the original poster for the "gathering", what is the official start time for Saturday morning?

Also, Since we are all meeting up at Highbanks in the A.M., and Highbanks is now carrying bait, lets support Tim (new HB Owner) and buy our minnows or what have you from him, it will be a good gesture for us "FMers" to support him with this event on Fish Lake, just a thought! Maybe we will get a free ice pass for the day if we buy out all his bait. (haha)

"LET THE COUNT DOWN BEGIN"! grin.gif

Im thinking 7AM at Highbanks Parking Lot. Channel 7 on 2 ways. Yes we should support Tim at Highbanks. He donated some season Road passes and Hats. Lets all try to buy our Bait there! Bring wheelers and sleds if ya have them and please help those that dont. Also make sure we park the best we can so we dont clog up Tims lot. Who is bringing the grill?

Everyone should meet up with me on the ice and drop your name in the hat for prizes. I dont care what ya put it on but no bigger than a bussiness card. Ill be on Channel 7 and be left out of the narrows. I dont want us causing any problems for the locals out for the weekend. We may have a lot of people. If your not worried about a prize fish wherever ya want.

We dont have a lot of prizes yet. If ya know someone who will donate something fun please bring them along.

See ya Sat at 7AM at Highbanks. If you come later no problem I think Ill do prizes at NOON.

Steve,

What time does Tim usually open up on Saturday mornings?

Prizes at noon while the grills going sounds good. I'll have a sled so i can do some transport duty if needed.

Xplorer, High Banks has new owners and opens at 7 AM. He assured us he'll carry bait. Nothing worse then getting to the lake and the Bait Shop isn't open.

How much snow is there on Fish? Just wondering if a guy is going to be able to pull a trailer out with a wheeler?

Thanks,

Granny

I could use some help pulling my stuff out on the ice. I was out there on friday and saturday and my stuff is pretty heavy, without a sled or wheeler it makes for a long walk out on the ice. I'd be willing to give a few bucks for gas if somone would be willing to pull some equipment out to the fishing holes for me. Let me know, thanks

Gary
