Ice report and ice fishing reports

How is the ice around the Greyston Beach area? I head up there on the 30th with my dad and my younger brother. I hope that there will be enough ice that we can stay in the sleeper that we have reserved with Lyons Sleepers.

Has anyone been out fishing on 4 Mile or out around Pine? If so post report.

I heard the guys will be fishing portables mid to late this coming week.

The ice should have held up pretty good around

Greyston. Even if it had all blown away odds are

it would be ok by Dec 30th.

There has been some foot traffic and atvs on the

bays but, I havent heard if they are catching

anything....

there is 12 houses on bay by cyrus resort spearing northerns

4 inches ice out to about 16 ft.

Wxman: As a dad who gets to fish and hunt with my three boys I can tell you that being able to cherish these times really goes both ways. As Dads we get older and eventually we just won't be able to push as hard as we did in our younger years. Until that day comes we get out together as often as we can. I will always cherish remembering the time when my brother and I were in our teens back in the late forties, hauled our Dad with a bad heart all the way across Lake Andrusia (E of Bemidji) on a toboggan to our fish house so he could fish with us, what fun it was.

There is no doubt that I cherish the moments with my kids. We started going up to LOW 10 years ago and its unbelievable how time has flown by. Today I'm in the process of making a DVD out of all of our LOW trips, so we have something to remember the early years. There's nothing like being on the ice with your family with no other distractions, such as our normal everyday life. I'm looking forward to our trip together later this month!! Keep the line tight!!

Walked out & drilled a few on 4-mile bay from Adrians access last night. Ice is ugly but seems to be fairly consistant at about 4".

Heard second hand that a guy released 26 eyes yesterday afternoon. Sorry, no size or location.

I'm heading out Wed. afternoon, will post results (unless embarassed).

Could you explain what you mean by "ugly" ice? I heard that Brian from Adrian's was out yesterday marking the road. I also talked to Cyrus and they said there was good ice outside of Pine. Just curious as to what the truth is up there...hear so many reports and none of them are consistent. I also was told that some of the resorts are going to pull out the houses on Thursday...it really is a disadvantage living 5 hours away. Good Luck on Wednesday!

By ugly I mean rough, chunks frozen together, & all different colors. Don't think that it's a technical term & really not sure if its weaker or stronger but to me it's ugly ice.

Cory just told me that Brian did mark a "TRAIL" out to Pine to keep folks from wondering all over the bay. Not to be confused with a "ROAD" that would imply or encourage vehicle traffic.
