Xmas trip info?

Recommended Posts

I just booked a trip for the week after xmas. Should we be able to drive out by that time with trucks or should we be planning on bringing the wheelers too? I know everything is dependant on what the weather does, but how has it been in past years?

Curt is right on with the weather this time of year. We have for the past 5 years made our first trip right after Xmas and you are at the mercy of the weather. last year it was WARM and water standing on the ice. We went out by track vehicle and they were using their windshield wipers to clear the splash from the windshield. Two weeks later snow and cold. One never knows. But as Curt mentioned if you're running on your own bring the wheelers just in case. Its a great week to be there for action, hope you have plenty. Good luck and hang on. Bill

We were up the same time and had to use the wipers the whole way coming off that day. Measured 12 in. the day before, was down to 9 in. in some spots when we were leaving. Was a pretty sloppy mess out there but was a great time, great memories. Crazy to see rain/mist comin down on LOW just after Xmas. We're headin up the same time again this year. Lots of fish but the ride coming off got a little hairy... Can't wait, bring the ice... Good luck boys...
