South End Gravel

I usually go out of Brandts on the south end and was wondering if anyone is getting out to sloppy joes or the 4 or 5 mile gravel yet and how much ice is out there. thanks

Rocky, I would be careful if your heading out to sloppy joe's. My buddy and I fished the south end a couple of days ago and heard that a four wheeler went down out there. We had planned on trying to get out there also before we heard that. Everywhere we went which included banana reef, graveyard and spider had a good eight inches of solid ice, but apparently there are still some dangerous areas so be careful and good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I heard some reports of people going out to sloppys and the gravel the last couple of days which could be true. However, I had a hard time believing the ice was safe enough to get out that far, especially with the warm weather as of late. I heard about the 4 wheeler going through also so it makes no sense risking it just to catch a fish. I am itching to get out there but it might be another week or two depending if it gets cold soon. Good luck fishing this year

Did you have any luck with the walleyes out on Spider?? Curiousity gets to me. You don't have to tell me your coordinates...just good or bad is sufficient info for me! Thanks

Sorry to say it was pretty slow. We did manage a fifteen minute run where the eyes were making a move. We pulled a 16.5,13,and a few with egg shell on there heads.

Hey Rocky you got a big shack or are you mobile, I usually fish at Brandts too.
