Sorry hopper

Just saw your post..i flew sun country..i cant afford NW..lets make a deal online gets you more spending money when ya arrive in AK..we ended up not going that direction...being my brothers all live in AK they had a better spot at the time so they picked me up in Anch and flew me over to valdez then boarded the fishin boat..Actualy i got sick of Salmon fishing..after you catch so many it gets to be like catchin sun-fish 1 after another..Weather kept us from making the long trip out for halibut so we did'nt fish to long for those..fished about 35 hours straight for Salmon..5 hours for halibut then they flew me back to Anch and off i went..short trip but well worth the 400 bucks..
i'm headed back up 1st week sept for a bear hunt..this trip will allow me to sleep as my brothers have a lil more time to spend with me..yup i'm lucky to have good family ties..

Eyes on,
Yep, you are lucky to have the bro's!
Just got back on monday.
What a blast!!! Hit the red run perfect!!!
Fish everywhere!!!!!!!! grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif Me and the better half cought them at will, there were so many of them in the Kenai. We met a lot of great peaple while combat fishing, and some not so great, but that goes with the territory. Never fished the Russan-Kenai confluence, never had to. We just fished the lower Kenai. While fishing with Jim Wilson for Kings you could see the reds comeing into the river along the banks. They were literally jumping over one another as they entered the Kenia. Our boat landed four kings!! Jim is a great guy and an even better guide. He put us on fish!!!!If anyone would like his No# let me know and I will e-mail it to you. My e-mail is [email protected]
All in all it was a great trip to AK and I got more stories to tell. But I dont want to bore yous peaple any more.
I am now officially spoiled grin.gif
Looking foward to the next time we go grin.gif
There is no place like AK!

Let's push this Alaska business back to the top again. I'll be up there in less than a week. Haven't been up there since 1992 and I can't wait. We are spending most of our time in Cordova cause I've never been there yet. We have a floating cabin (Wannigan)rented out in the PWS and our own little skiff. The outfit positions the Wannigan in a secluded bay where the silvers are running. I think it will be 4 nights of heaven. It'll be good to visit some old friends in Seward (used to live there) and be a little bit of a tourist. Hopefully we should see some northern lights dancing also.

Just got back from alaska. what a blast. Made it out halibut fising in homer. I think my arms are still sore, and we only caught chickens plus one bonus silver. Fished the russian and kenei for silvers, but they weren't quite in yet but we managed to catch a few if you could keep the reds off the hooks. The reds were closed when i was there but there was a emergency order keeping the fishing open on the kenei. They weren't looking so hot anyhow so it didn't really matter. Caught some smaller rainbows and dolly on beads. The only fish I didn't get that I wanted to was grayling.

Might not have to wear ear plugs when I mow!      That’s a spendy one.  It wasn’t hard to find one of those for $6k.  Comparatively and Ariens of the same size is $4,200.  A home owner grade JD for $3,900.  You could get into a commercial grade Z700 for maybe $8k.   I think the work I did today with mine would’ve killed that one there.

On the south end...   This year's MN Fishing Opener weekend was not only great weather wise, the walleyes and saugers were caught in good numbers.  A main fish gut hauler working with a number of resorts commented it was one of the most productive opening weekends he has seen based on the amount of fish guts collected after the weekend. The goto presentation was a jig and frozen emerald shiner.  Emerald shiners are a staple in LOW and walleyes love them.  Other minnows worked also, but emerald shiners are a favorite of anglers for good reason.   Four Mile Bay held good walleyes in 12 - 18'.  Not a surprise as the walleye bite on the river during the spring season was good and as of late, sturgeon anglers have been reporting catching walleyes on sturgeon rigs.   The Lighthouse Gap area, Morris Point Gap and just in front of Pine Island held nice fish in 12 - 15'.  Across the south shore, 18 - 22' was holding good numbers as well.  As you can see, there are lots of fish around.     A quarter ounce jig in gold, glow white, pink, orange, chartreuse, or a combo of these colors tipped with a minnow worked well.   As a reminder, the limit of walleyes and saugers is a combined limit of six fish, up to four of the six can be walleyes.  All walleyes between 19.5 - 28.0 inches must be released.  One fish over 28.0 inches can be kept.  The possession limit in MN is one daily limit of fish. On the Rainy River...  Some nice walleyes were caught on the river this weekend, although most anglers hit the lake.  10 - 15' of water was the norm.     Sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River has been excellent.  The catch and release season continues through May 15th and then closes until the keep season starts up again July 1st. Up at the NW Angle...  Some nice walleyes were caught in 18 - 25 feet of water, a little deeper than anticipated.  Points were good as were areas with structure.  The morning and evening bite was best.       As water continues to warm, go to spots for walleyes will be neck down areas, shoreline breaks, points and bays.     The goto presentation was a jig and minnow.
