First time on the lake

Hey in a couple of weeks I am going to try the big lake for the first time. Where are some spots I might want to try.

There are a billion spots and the wind and weather can change things. If I were you I would make sure item #1 would be a good map with GPS points. Start on a flat (any flat) and work the edges and the areas off the edges with your favorite presentation (try spinners with crawler harnesses, spinners with leeches, or even lindy rigs. If the given flat doesn't produce, move to another one. If the wind is blowing, use your map to find a rock reef and try slip bobbering. Just look for the boats when you get close.

If you happen to be on the south side and don't feel like the long boat ride to the flats (most of which are on the northern third of the lake), use similar presentations on some of the gravel spots or reefs - like sloppy joes (will be marked on your map).

You may get a flat all to yourself but as far as the reefs and gravel are concerned - just look for the other boats.

Hope this helps...
