with Onterrio Smith. No wonder Tice wanted to hold the players in Mankato for one more day untill they shipped out for ATL. Rickey, Quincey, Jamal, and now Onterrio? If you have Bennet in your fantasy leauge, his value just went up.

Disappointing, to say the least. Now the Vikings no what the Tennessee Vols found out. Sounds like he's not been able to shake this problem. This one will cost him almost 1/4 of his check, I guess.

Very disappointing. I just don't understand why a guy like that, a player in the NFL with the potetial to be a very good back, basically has the world by the b___s, and to just throw it all away like that. I guess the truth of the matter though is that there are probably alot of other guys in the league doing the same thing....he just got caught.

I don't think Onterrio ever had to pay the price before. He leaves Tennesee, he gets welcomed with open arms to another school. Most athletes have been granted special status since they were young. And some take advantage of it.

Recently there was a thread about getting rid of Bennett because Onterrio was so good. Now you know why teams don't trade strong positions. Boom, you're down to one good back again. For draft choices.

And if Onterrio tests positive again....

Used to be you could make "All Prison Teams" out of football players. OJ at running back, Art Schlister at QB, etc. Now you can have your "All Drug" team. Quincy Carter at QB, Ricky Williams at RB, backup Onterrio, Michael Irvin at WR.

The only thing I can add is that this is his job he is threatening! If it were you or me doing drugs, we may very well lose our jobs! I don't get this whole three strike or however many chances they get? They all make a good living and then boom... I mean poof it's all up in smoke (pun intended).

Actually O. Smith didn't get three strikes. Because of the situation in Tennessee he started at the third level.

Still a stupid thing to do. Although he's appealing. I wonder why some with a less than clean background get a fresh start and some don't? Maybe that will work in his favor in the appeal.

With bennett hurt williams will get some love and some teams in deep leagues might even pick up mewelde moore.

Ontarrio Spliff keeps messing up his chances with Tice and the Vikes.

      Back when the DNR was seining our beach in July I asked, and apparently they were through oak narrows.   But long way to go to get to us.   I'll keep my eyes open and my mask and snorkel on.  Didn't see any sign off them this summer.

      Nice job Troy.   We are happy with our opening day for ducks.  2 man limit of mixed species by 10am.  LOTS of people where we were today but that was expected.  Other than getting beat to our spot, no issues that would keep up away.  Not even the rain.

      There are actually 3 tree carvings on the trail from Soudan to Ely.  I saw 2 of them but missed the 3rd.  I believe that trail is the Prospector Trail #4 or #6.  You have to start from the parking lot on the Murray Road 2 miles past Soudan since several property owners on the old railroad bed didn't allow off-road vehicles on their properties.  Another option is to travel from Tower to Embarrass then on to Ely, but that adds a couple hours to the trip.

      The colors are getting good. Beautiful time of year. Maples are full red and birch and aspen are going too.  I’m not finding a formula for walleyes. Best luck when fishing saddles and shoreline drop offs 10’ down to 20’. I’m using old crawlers, too, because a) it’s hard to find minnows although Northwoods in Cook has them and b) it’s been too warm to keep them alive.  We do have a change in weather happening right now. Wind is coming up and the temperature is dropping. It’s going to be hard to fish Saturday through Monday but the change could be good after that.  Good luck, you’ll need some. They are out there and you’ll get dinner but you’ll have to work for them. RLG

      Some more heavily fished lakes are tough ALL season.  Lake Minnetonka and Mille Lacs come to mind.  The water is clear, there are tournaments all the time, and the fish are not easy to catch.   That is why I focus my efforts on lakes with less pressure.
