VIKES FIRST GAME

FI Guide

Recommended Posts

After watching the vikes first game even though it was against the cards the team looked very good in certain aspects and horrid in some others. The first team offense looked sharp with culpepper going 8-10 in passing including a deep bomb to moss for a td. What looked the best about the offense was the line absent matt birk. The big guys up front blocked superb and culpepper did not take and hard licks from the cards defense. What i was most surprised with was the first team d. These guys looked good. With all of the new players and rookies the team speed went up dramitically which lead to the sacks on the QB. Our linbackers were awsome with henderson thomas and claiborne all making great plays. The d-line had a great game with udeze standing out the most with his blazing speed and quickness. The only concern i have is the penalties that were made but as the preseaon continues the calls wont happen as much as the players get into their groove. This should be a great year for the vikes with their new found defense.

I was impressed with Thomas the most, he really looked good, after years of the vikes having no D it will be really refreshing if we have a legit stud among the backers. What I didnt like was the O lines run blocking. for such a big bunch of guys I sure didnt see Bennet get much open space to run in. and Brian Williams going out with an injured knee shocked.gif Like I said before NO DEPTH if hes out for a while now what do they do?

the o-line didnt block as well as they normally do but without Birk probably their best run blocker the o-line did a fairly decent job and as the preseason continues they should get better.
IC you are right with the secondary besides our top three corners in winfield irvin and williams we dont have anything behind those guys to back them up because injuries do happen. I think jones might be ok if he has to come in but thats all maybe ty carter could step up and play some corner also chavous played corner in zona and he could help at corner and ty carter would go to saftey.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
