Vikings 2004 Season Record?

Yah I had no idea when the vikes came around, I guess I was not into history as much as Packer Fans. However I did do some checking yesterday and saw that in 1918 the Boston Red Sox beat the cubs for the world series. Whoooooooooohooooooooo did I celebrate last night that was awesome. I didn't think they were going to pull it out but whadaya know, what a series! I called up some of my cub fan friends and really gave it to em. It was weird though they almost seemed like they had no idea what I was talking about. I didn't care though I just kept going on and on about it with no real point or no reference to the fact that the sox have not done much since then. But I tell ya what I am holding on to 1918 baby.

Oh well now that the season is under way I guess the vikes fans and the packer fans just have to sit back and endure the march to mediocracy......or maybe not for the Vikes.

Go Indy!!

I just went through and copied some quotes from you fine folks. Looks like you all need to update your unrealistic pre-season picks. Come on, what were you thinking? Only 4-5 loses this year?? Only a viking fan can be so optimistic year after year. The only quote that was anywhere close was mine.

Quote:

Tom Herman

12-4, NFC championship game

Quote:

Borsch

I'm going with 11-5. I see them in the superbowl.

14-2 Regular Season
First Round Bye
Home Field Advantage
Super Bowl
Victory

united jigsticker....I'm with you, FINALLY, sombody knows what they're talking about on this thread, except I will say 13-3 regular season.

Quote:

So haard

I say 11-5. Road wins against Philly, GB, Indy and even Chicago and Detroilet

Quote:

Piker

I'll take a repeat of the start last year. So that's 6-0 and then I guess I'll settle for .500 ball the rest of the season. 11-5 North division title

Quote:

Buzzsaw

I'm a Vike's fan and I anticipate an 11-5 record

Quote:

Pikerliker

12-4, win the division and play in the NFC championship game

Quote:

PikeTipper

I gotta say 12 - 4 and making it to the NFC Championship game.

Vikes will be at least 12-4. Playoffs who knows probably Super Bowl champions.

Geeze, you cheeseheads win one stinking game and you think you've won the superbowl....get a grip!

Vikes will still win the division and will make it past the first round. How's that for an update? grin.gif

Tom, Tom, Tom...

Good one. Never show fear to the enemy!

I think that the team that will lose fewer games to the second division teams will end up in the playoffs. Right now neither defense can be too proud of their records so far.

I do not think we have to worry about the pack or the vikes being in the superbowl this year.

Peyton Manning = MVP Thats my guess

Pep and Manning, co-MVP's.

Vikes finish 12-4 or 11-5.

When Moss returns, watch out!

I also hope the Texans take the Pack. smile.gif

with our schedule remaining, and moss returning soon, 12 or 11 wins is possible. culpepper is a MVP and our running game is great, we just need some linebackers that can play football. I predict that houston beats the pack this weekend.

I'm still standing behind my 11 wins, although I think it's unlikely. I still see 10 wins being one more than enough to win the North and keep the Packers at home. The Vikings have really only been crushed by the Giants, they had a chance against Philly, Indy, and got jobbed against the Pack. They do have a nice schedule coming up.

Vikings will finish 8-8 behind the Lions (at 9-7) and the Packers (at 9-7) who also have the toughest remaining schedule of the NFC North...oh by the way, the Bears will finish at 7-9.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end... The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free. Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well. Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike. Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River. Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently. Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn. Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options. Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River... Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing. Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues. A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River. Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise. Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale. The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st. Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing. One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker. Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle... A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water. In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener. Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years. Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads. Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water. Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad. Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
