Launch Facilities

I am new to fishing Mille Lacs and looking for some input.

Looking to come up Sunday morning and launch on the south end, possibly the Isle area. Can anyone recommend a good public launch site?

I am also hearing the public ramps are filling very quickly on the weekends. How early would a guy need be there to avoid the chaos and more importantly the possibility of a full parking lot.

Call ahead for public launches. It seems that most are private charters this time of year. Dickies and Scenic Bay both run out of Isle. Dickies has a couple of launches so you may have a better chance there.

Public landings do fill up on Sat. However, you shouldn't have a big problem on Sunday. Parking is usually available. But then again with all the hype about the great bite you may run out of space even on Sunday.

Ice Age,,, There is a decent public launch near Cove on the south end,,reasonable amount of parking,,,be careful to follow the bouys when going out, huge nasty rocks out of the channel...another good ramp is located on the SE corner just east of Isle, in Isle bay,,well protected from wind, reasonably shallow stal trimmed up,,,good luck,,We fished thursday for 3 1/2 hours,,,first fish (10 minutes on spot) 29 3/4" beautiful eye,,realeased her and 35 others between 20" - 26"..have a Blast Big Jim

Thanks for the help and information. We made it up on Sunday and the fishing was unbelievable. Caught 50+ fish and most were 20-25 inches long. Amazing bite going on now.
