Just wanted to let you guys know that the fishing on the north end sand is hot! Was up there all last week and we hammered the wallyes. WE manged to get some slots too. Biggest was 28 average was probably about 22. Caught tons of numbers everyday. We used live bait rigs weith leeches and about 6-7 foot snells.

I was fishing up by garrison this weekend and the sand and rocks proved pretty much equal. The bigger fish definatley came from the sand. Fishing was just awsome this weekend. The trick seemed to be plain hook snells in the morning and by afternoon spinners worked alot better. Fish were on TOP of the rocks, even the biggest ones and in calm water.

Walleyewacker,

I couldn't agree more. My buddy and I fished the north end sand all day today. From 7-12 we took 10 fish all of them over the slot and all caught on a plain leech with a 6 foot snell with a lone red bead. From noon until 1:30 we didn't catch a fish. Thought this is ricidulous and decided to try some of those new infiltrator spinners. Wow!!!! What a difference. Within 5 minutes of switching rigs we started to catch fish again Funny how they can be so finicky sometimes. Anyway by 5 we had boated 28 more fish and decided to call it a day.

You can see the infiltrator spinner rigs here: http://fishingminnesota.com/spinner-rigs-infiltrator.html

HOW MANY OF YOU WERE IN THAT TRAFFIC JAM FROM GARRISON GOING SOUTH??? WOW

Also fished the area by Garrison this weekend. Unbelieveable. Fished Saturday afternoon, evening, Sunday morning, and evening. Drifted and trolled with a leech on a Lindy with a plain hook. Also picked up a few on a jig and minnow. Largest was 27". Between three of us we boated 58 walleyes. Was able to bring 9 home. Excellent meal on Monday evening. Just finishing a few leftovers right now during lunch. I'll be back next weekend.
