I was just wondering if there has been any reports on Goose... I fished the lake a whole bunch last summer and fun with a lot of Northerns and some Crappies... I also was pleasently surprised with a few 'eyes... Just curious if anything was happening through the ice...

Moses,

I have not heard a thing about Goose this year. In fact, I haven't talked to anyone that has been on but a few fish here and there. They're out there and biting somewhere. Now's the time of year that if you want a big bite you're going to have to sweat through your Carhart's to get it.

Anyone else hear anything good or bad about Goose? I'm sure you could hover over the deep water and pick a up few suspended crappies.

  • 4 weeks later...

I'm planning on stopping by Goose this weekend. The only thing is I haven't been there since I was a kid. Is there public parking somewhere? I'm planning on walking out.

Thanks
joe

I don't think there's any public parking. In fact, I think there are No Parking signs all along the road between the lakes.

Why not just drive on at the private/donation access in the northeast corner? Of course, it could be a massive mess right now.

Thanks Ray.

That was my concern. With this last week being so warm I can't imagine the public access is going to be any better than last weekend. In fact I'm sure they're worse.

I was just flippin' through the new fishing regs' for 2004 and was pleased to see that Goose Lake is in the book now for its 17" minimum on 'eyes! The signs were out at the lake last year, but I saw people keeping 12-13" eyes' all day long, hopefully now with it in the book people might decide to follow the law...

Moses- is this a lake we can go after practice and fish this spring? Baseball and track will eat up alot of our time again this year,oh well, im assuming you're staying around for opener. Let's Do It Up! We could always go to Sunrise, again.
