Just checking if anyone has information on the water levels between Little Sand and Sand Lake. Is the channel passable for a 17 1/2 foot Crestliner deep V. Had a little trouble last year in June and August, just wanting to know is the water level is up after the lst few rain showers.

Also checking on how the fishing has been in Sand. I am taking my family up to the Anchor Inn on the 5th and hoping to have some luck.

Good Luck to all.

The water level is not much different than your lasta trip. We need a lot of rain to get the water back up. Good Luck!

I just got back from there. the gut gets as shallow as 1.6' at the opening on the little sand side. if going into little Sand, keep to the left of the bouy. If comming off of Little Sand, keep to the rite. You can make it through, go slow. Check out thoes big suckers in there, some of them must be 2' long.

  • 4 weeks later...

Thanks alot for the information. Got back on the 13th. Fishing for crappies was pretty good got 34 for the week. Only caught about 18 walleye but the quality was there. Of course the northerns were crazy, creel count was 281 for the week. Weeds were really starting bad and the water was just deep enough. Thanks again and have a great season.

This is the bait frig at L&M in Virginia, the other day. Also, added Highway 65 bait.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!

I agree on the choices.   I didn't mean to say that a battery auger was better or greener or whatever.  I could care less about that.   It just seems that "most" ice anglers have made a switch to a battery auger in recent years.  That's all I was saying.  I know about a dozen people who regularly ice fish and they all have battery augers now.  I bet if you conducted a survey of all ice anglers, the majority would answer that they use a battery powered auger.

Best weed eater I've ever run with great longevity is Echo, I'd check them out

Hey government,  Just give us choices. I don’t care what people use as long as as it works for you. I’m needing a new weed eater. Plan on a Stihl FS 40 easy start. I’m done with the cheaper brands. Just don’t last long enough.  Probably true with the Stormy Daniels of the world as well. Cheaper don’t last long enough 🤭

If you turn on a movie they survive the 20min ride just fine. After many controlled experiments, I've found that they survive much better if you show "Finding Nemo" instead of "Jaws."
