Flick--I SURE HAVE-- 14ft of clear water sat on top of those guys for 30 minutes, changing lures , bait ,they came out of there rocks and would just bump it then put it in reverse and back into the rock. It was insane,Ive never seen anything like that;; crawlers, leeches, minners, they pushed them away, jigs , lindys, raps, nothing worked; we sat the bait on top of him,in front, bounced it, jiged it and finally left him; and we werent the only ones with the same story that whole weekend. UNREAL!!!!!!

Exactly the way I felt-I wonder what made them so sluggish? The fish I was on were in 5ft. though, and they weren't sitting still, they were swimming all over.

I don't know why they wouldn't bite but I've had the same thing happen. A problem could have been that you spooked them by getting too close. If you really want to catch them you could try casting a split shot and a leech. They really have a hard time resisting a lively leech.

On Monday I found a spot where there were about a dozen smallmouth, but didn't catch one. Tried everything. They'd take a look at it but wouldn't chase. Do you ever have this problem? Are there any bail out baits you go to when nothing else seems to work? Thanks, Flick.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
