Missing Black Lab

Recommended Posts

My boss (Bruce) talked to me today about his missing black lab. His was out searching for the dog when his neighbor told him that some guy stopped by his house and asked if he knew who owned the lab he found "wandering along the road". (of course the neighbors house was the only one within eyeshot of where the dog was picked up). The neighbor said he didn't know the dog.

According to Bruce his dog never leaves the bounds of his property. That is why his neighbor didn't know who the owner was. His neighbor said the guy told him that "I have two dogs and really don't need another, but since you don't know who owns him, I guess I will just take him home to St. Francis."

The dog has a red collar with no tag. Bruce lives north of St. Francis and East of Princeton.

Seems kind of "fishy" to both Bruce and myself that someone would just pick up a dog that happened to be wandering down the road and only stop at ONE house to ask about it.

So, if anyone hears of someone getting a new 4-year old black lab, respond to this thread, Bruce and his family will appreciate it.

Sorry to hear about your friend's dog. Hopefully, with a post here, someone will find the missing dog. A word to all of you other owners - after losing one dog, my hunting buddy and I always put our telephone numbers on the dog collar with a magic marker. On a red collar, this will really stand out, and the owners friend would have seen the telephone number, and hopefully a call would be placed to the owners home. Hope this saves a good dog sometime.
