Anybody out there on Nest Lake?
Planning a trip there maybe in the next few weeks. My neighbor just got back and said the fishing was great, lots of action.
Just wondering of any other reports.

I went there a couple of weeks ago and caught some smallmouths along the rocky shore lines near the center of the lake, but I have been avoiding it since because the weeds were really bad that time, but maybe they have died off some. Skeets did your friend happen to mention how bad the weeds were? And what kind of fish did he catch?

EW6,
My friend didn't say anything about weeds. They stayed at Cedar Point Resort, and said the swimming was good for the kids and the fishing was also good.
He usually fishes for Walleyes and Northerns. He mentioned catching some of both and that the action was good. He also said the panfishing was excellent for the kids also.
I am looking into this Resort for my family renioun next summer. I would like to get over there and check out the resort and the fishing before I book it for next year.

Well when Nest Lake is on it is a very good lake to visit. We fished it very often last year for Northerns and bass and caught many quality fish and some real trophies, (6 1/2lb Smallie and 14lb. Northern). Also about mid August my dad caught a 19lb. Muskie out there. I don't think anyone knows that there are Muskies in Nest. We figure it must have been left from earlier stockings. So good luck out there! Maybe you will get into some big fish.

Maybe going to try Nest tommorrow. We are going to check out a few resorts and maybe pull the boat and try fishing.
Muskies...cool, don't get to catch them very often, you know, the fish of 10,000 casts!

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
