Hot Bite!!!!

Well everything looks great out here, Billy T. and Baitco were out tonight and did great around 3 O'Clock. They caught some really nice fish, everything at or over a pound. The weather is staying cold and in the last few days weve been letting people drive out, by the weekend there should be a good foot of ice everywhere on the lake.

WHAT TYPES OF VEHICLES ARE PEOPLE DRIVING OUT? JUST SMALL CARS AND TRUCKS OR ARE THEY TAKING OUT EXTENDED CAB PICKUPS AND VANS ALREADY? HOW FAR OUT DOES THE BEST BITE SEEM TO BE? ALL THE WAY TO THE FLATS OR NOT? THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Yes people are starting to drive out from West Wind and Hillman's. I'm not sure about Rodgers and Hudecs. There is about 12 to 14 inches of ice on the lake. Most are driving anything from smaller cars to extended cab trucks, others still prefer ATV's and snowmobiles, its your decision. The fishing is really picking up and most are doing well. Just remember, there is no such thing as safe ice. smile.gif The roads are being plowed out about 4 miles to the flats.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
