Last report of water temperature on the Rainy River a few days ago was still 40 degrees. Walleyes start their spawn at temperatures of 40 - 45 degrees.... get my point? With openers now only 11 days away, there should be plenty of post-spawn walleyes. They tend to hang around the spawning waters up to one month after spawning.

Hmmmm Got Reservations??? Check out our Resort Special on Forums Main Page. smile.gif

Oh yesss,
a nice secluded opening day spot with lots of hungry walleyes. Easy access and docking.

The Rainy River by Clementson should be hot.

Do you have room for a group Sandee?

I've been to Clementson Resort several times and really enjoy the resort as well as the Hosts Rick & Sandee Anderson.

Will Rick be building his usual smartfire? It's like camping with the luxury of a cabin..inexpensive as well.

I've caught walleyes, pike and smallies after openers. If you're looking for an opening day spot, I highly recommend Clementson Resort.

Call Sandee today and reserve your little piece of Opening Day paradise.

YES - you can navigate anywhere on the river, regardless of MN or Ontario side. There are areas you MUST navigate on the Ontario side (Silver Creek) where the DNR puts in buoys in summer through the fall.

Well as predicted this openers has been a very good one. Anglers are limiting on walleyes and missing a lot of them too. Biggest so far that I have seen was a post spawn 27" that was released.

We are having a blast out there!!

Jig and a minnow, working the holes while anchored seems to be working best.

Best of all - only a few boats out there - way cool!!

Spawn has not been completed as we are releasing sauger and walleyes with eggs in them and there are a lot of males out there. Lots of lake walleyes seen.

Can't get any better with the weather too.
