I've been wondering too. I kinda figured it was still pretty high, dirty, and really smokin' though. I was thinking about maybe heading over in a week or a little more. If I do, I'll shoot out a report.

Just a quick report, went to Orwell last night for a couple hours and the smallies are as active as ever. Water level was I would say a little higher than normal , and the clarity was ok but not as clear as normal. I fished right by the dam and C&R several smallies the biggest was 15-16" most were 11-13" and a few small guys too. Man they are so aggresive. Tried a few different presentations but for me the #4 mepps orange blade, black skirt was the best. Had good success on a jig and boot-tail type plastic minnow. I forgot the top waters at home which was too bad because I saw several smallies break the surface, a few were some real horse's. Anyway fun as always and no mosquitoes!!

I (finally) had the chance to stop by Orwell for a few hours the other day. Water levels are quite high and a bit off-colored. The largest smallie I managed was a 14" fish on soft plastic. I wanted to fish for cats below the dam, but it was pretty crowded so I stayed away.

I hope to give it another whirl soon. I still want to try "trolling" cranks behind a planer board in the fast water below the dam, but am hesitant to experiment when there are so many people there. I guess my time will come, and I'll report back then.
