Tyler Pemble 2000 In-Fisherman's Region 1 MASTER ANGLER C&R Channel Catfish WINNER!

Recommended Posts

Congratulations Tyler Pemble!

In-Fisherman's 2000 Region #1 MASTER ANGLER C&R Channel Catfish WINNER!

The Pemble's were clients of Backwater Guiding last August here on the upper Red in the Wahpeton ND region. Great bunch of nice folks them Pemble's are, hardcore catfisherperson's too folk's!

Tylers sister's and mother were into fish too on day one so we don't wish to leave them out. Tylers older sister is kinda cute too, EH.

Tyler was fishing with his father John Pemble and I when he hooked his winning trophy C&R channel Cat. The piggy went for a frog on a circle hook slip rig off a mid river snag. The cat was a solid 37" and a real Cat Scratch Red River SUMO piggy, WOOF-ye-ha, man that was fun!

We caught several 20 lb and bigger cat's that day and Tylers was the biggest we boated. He and his Dad had a few on that may have been much bigger too, one was for sure!

The Pembles are true sportsman and were eager to release this monster after a few quick photo's so it could get even piggy'r and meaner for the next angler to enjoy, well done John & Tyler!

You deserve it bud, good job!

Hope to see ya folks again this season on the Red.

I have a hunch you may be back?

(Side Note)

If I would have remembered to mail in a entry of mine for a C&R fall piggy walleye I would have had Region #1 Walleye C&R beat by a 1/4".

Oh well, she will be bigger and piggy'r this year!

Hello,  I have an older model minn kota trolling motor.  Its a 1999 All Terrain Power Max 44lb Thrust.    I cannot seem to find a new foot pedal system for it. Should I just get a new trolling motor? Thanks in advance for any help

It’s the greatest experience to take a kid duck hunting on youth day. There is not enough kids out there to chase the ducks away. When I take kids o rarely see another person hunting. I wish they had youth day when I was a kid. Stop being selfish and give the kids a chance!

I think that's a great way to do it.  Probably only takes a minute to put it on or take it off.

The guy I bought our place from had an 1/8" cable right down the center of the whole dock. I'll likely move towards a more invisible, section by section approach. However, the full length cable setup has been effective and not as intrusive as one may imagine. Really easy to fasten all the sections at once. May be able to see in the attached

Headed north to a little perch and walleye lake this morning. The day didn't start the greatest, go to take off from the landing and the boat porpoised like a mofo... Ah crap forgot the plug haha haven't done that one in a few years... The day got better from there, we found fish stacked up on the wind blown weed line... There were so many fish I assumed they were schools of big perch, but they were mostly smaller walleyes with some real nice keepers mixed in... Crawlers under a bobber were the ticket... They would hardly touch a leech.

Many of you FM long termers remember FisherDog from way back...he used to post all the time before he moved to Florida.  He was up for a couple days this past week and we got on a good crappie bite in the area, he is a Crappie Guru and man we worked hard but had fun...boated well over 100 in 2 days on the outside weed edges...many absolute Donkeys. Kept a few smaller ones so he could have a fish fry for his family...couple of pics...he's in the blue shirt.

Any action out on Gull?  I have tried a few times and have had some success pulling rapalas but finding areas void of weeds is getting harder and harder.  Just curious how others are fairing out there.  I am thinking I need to get out there during the day and try small jigs and 3" minnows as that is what have been in the guts of the fish we have cleaned.

I have a buddy that has a cabin on the lake and he will fish the walleyes over deep water and also in the weeds as they seem to relate to both at times.  Seems like a hard lake to pattern but he always seems to catch something out there.  Good Luck

...oh and I ran into Fiskynut on the Lake as well as the Point following Striefffs too.

so just curious how is the water situation in the area?  the document didn't open and I don't get up in the area as often as I would like but I have heard of quite a few storms roll through the area.  I know the sentiment earlier this year was it was gonna take a lot to get things going in the right direction, so has that started to happen or still way below normal?  Thanks
