River just north of Aitkin

Recommended Posts

I will be visiting some friends who are on the river just north of Aitkin. I caught a couple walleyes there last year, just wondering if anyone is having any luck lately?

Now would be the time to being fishing this curvy little gem.

Hit the holes, the Walleyes should be thick as the water is low, and they'll be HUNGARY! Days after frost mornings are the best.

Crawlers seem to work about the best, and plain ball head jigs is all you need.

Good fishing,

Thanks for the reply. I was there over the Labor Day weekend. Just fishing from shore, caught one keeper walleye, a couple small ones, and A TON of carp. Tried minnows and leechs to avoid the carp, but it was the nightcrawlers that did the trick.
