Island Lake

Looking for a decent crappie lake around the Shell Lake area. Something within 15 miles. We will be up in the area for opener and are looking for some crappie action as a backup plan. Any help would be appreciated.

Fish Hook Lake was always good for me.

I always fished the north west corner just off the cabbage and near the spot where the Potato River comes in.

Caught nice crappies in the winter on BIG Mantrap,but that is getting a little farther than 15 miles from Shell lake.
