North Star Lake

I'll be up there for a week starting this Saturday. Can anyone tell me how the fishing has been? I'll have the kids with so I will be fishing everything from pan fish with them to Walleyes, Northers and definatly Muskies with "The Guys". Any lake info would be great!

I was fishing up there last weekend and had the kids along. We fished Wabana and Graves and did real well. We found lots of panfish on wabana and some nice sandy swimming bars. Also got into some really nice panfish on graves, nine to ten inch sunnies, which really give you a battle. Wabana also put out some nice Bass using crankbaits, I fished mainly the far north bay, it was fun.

MR Z ARE YOU GOING UP ON THE 24TH? WHERE ARE YOU STAYING? WE ARE HEADED UP THERE ONLY ON THE 23RD FOR 8 DAYS. THERE IS SOME REALLY NICE BASS FISHING IN THE LAKE TO KEEP ANY KID FROM GETTING BORED. GO ALONG JUST ABOUT ANY SHORE LINE AND CAST A LEAD HEAD ( 1/8 TO 1/4 OZ)WITH A BLACK TWISTER TAIL. WHILE UP THERE BEFORE THIS IS SOMETHING A ELDERLY GUY TOLD ME TO USE. HE WAS FISHING WITH HIS GRANDSON. IT WORKED GREAT FOR A PAST TIME THROUGH THE DAY. I HAVE NOT CAUGHT ANY PAN FISH FOR SIZE TO SPEAK OF. I HAVE SEEN NORTHERN, MUSKIE,AND THE GREAT WALLEYE.

Thanks for the info. We will definatly give it a try. We're going to be staying at the North Star Lake Resort. I've never been up there so I'm hoping to get into some big Northerns and Muskies. I'll most likely only be able to do most of my fishing in the morning. Then it's family time, tubing, skiing ect..
