Smallmouth water Around Floodwood

I am new to the Floodwood area. We just bought a deer shack a little north of Floodwood....hunting area looks great, but i am also curious to find some nice Bass waters around the area. Are there any good Smallie waters within 30 minutes of Floodwood, or even some good Largemouth waters as well???? Thanks---fisher98

Not sure on anything near Floodwood, but if you are willing to drive a little farther than 30 miles, (like 60 or 75), you can get to some of the best smallmouth waters in the state. North of Grand Rapids lies many lakes that hold tons of smallies. Turtle, Spider, North Star, Deer, not to mention all the small lakes that receive little pressure. Also, Pokegama is said to be great for smallies.
