swan lake / spider lake

Gonna be staying up in the pengilly area for a few days. I plan to fish Swan Lake for a day or two and also try to get over to Spider. I have heard good reports on both, but dont really have any specifics on where to start on these two lakes. Any help regarding depths, what type of structure, lure/baits, and any specific locations would be great.

A bit of additional info. Would like info on walleyes for both lakes, and also any info on Muskie and Bass on Spider.

Used to fish Spider Lake a little for bass too.

Just a note to let you know that I went to our initial lake early yesterday morning before it got hot and caught some bass up to 19".

Did you manage to get out anywhere else over the weekend?

Greg,

Got out on Swan and Snowball over the weekend. Nothing too big, but a few bass and northerns. Walleyes on Swan were dead slow. Switched over to bass/northern casting and had much better success. Had planned to hit our initial lake sunday afternoon/evening, but got involved in fixing my 1971 Winnebago motorhome, and before I knew it it was time to head back to Duluth. I definitely want to get out there later in August. Thanks for the trip, had a great time.
