Try contacting Cody Hill.  He’s always on the fish and based in Pelican Rapids, just southeast of Moorhead.  https://www.chillguideservice.com/about-cody-and-chill  Those are your closest lakes.  Otherwise, like mentioned, the Red River is your best bet.  I’ve never fished that area though so I can’t give you any starters. -

i'm going to be there for a couple of weeks, will have facilities but I'm more than likely to be doing just catch and release so don't mind what i catch. -

Welcome to the FM site. Lot of questions that would be helpful, to help you. How long are you staying? If only a few days and you have the money a local guide is going to be your best bet to get on fish. Are you just doing catch and release or are you going to have a place to clean and cook fish?  In the Red river your more then likely going to target catfish. Hopefully a few of our members who live out that way can chime in on some cat fishing setups or spots. Good luck.Â
