2025 Mn bear....

That's ok, got the Bear hunting out of my system years ago.  Still have some good spots on the GPS up in the Arrow head!  Did love me some good greasy bear roasts though!

Leech......i've shot my share of bear......it be nice to get another but not the end of the world if i dont. i get to spend time with my son...its just another way to get into the woods. i've been at it since about 1976......that rush when you walk up to the bait and see the logs scattered all over and bait gone just doesnt get old for me.

 

i had to get rid of 1 rug because of bad tanning. i have another rug, shoulder mount and made 3 pillows from 2 different bear hides. my biggest issue has become what to do with the hide....that seems more of a trophy then the meat. i inquired 1 year at the Alex decoy show when there were a couple hide guys there and they didnt seem to interested.  i have no other ideas for the hide.......approval from the wife is not even negotiable!!!!!

My last hide I gave to my Taxidermist friend to make what ever he liked out of it.  

I've got a few fun Bear hunt stories to be told.  All 3 of us our first year stupidly tracking a blood trail in the dark together and getting lost, luckily smelled the bait making circles and got out.  Flash lights dying, deep in a swamp following a blood trail in the dark, the one who stayed at the bait called us back in!  We learned our second bear! Lol.   Downing a wounded charging bear with the last bullet when tracking, no lie!     Have had my fun!

Good luck smurfy!  On getting drawn, I mean!

 

If it comes down to it, I know a guy that might be interested in a nice hide.

 when/if i get drawn.....which i should know about june 1 we'll get in touch........both my kid and myself should get drawn.

 

and thanks.........with 6 preference points............i think are odds are pretty good.............there giving out 375 permits......and since we had yogi and booboo destroy my birdfeeders last spring......
