Have you tried trolling in one direction so your only looking away from shore?

I know that is absurd, but sometimes you read things......................

I'm not talking about when I'm fishing, this is trying going to and from places on the lake in transit. There is no way to avoid these locations. Imagine needing to boat through Oak Narrows and there is always a very bright light on the north shore. You just have to deal with it until you get passed, but it kills your vision until you do get passed it.

What Skunked says is a real thing....

Folks with those superbright lights have probably never been on the lake at night much less fished at night. They just don't know.

Can't tell you how many times I've come off plane trying to determine if I'm seeing a navigation light approaching on a collision course - only to determine its a bright yard light, literally a mile away.

Night fishing certain spots on the lake, there have been times I've needed to look down or shield my eyes due to the intensity of the street lights directed towards the lake from someone's backyard.  We're talking 3 million candle power type lights.

And since we're ranting, can we talk about 8' tall polka dot chickens??

If you want a light to illuminate your driveway or yard, get one that does that and doesn't shine out onto the lake and into any neighbors...   Yeah those things up on a pole are great on the farm, but dumb at the lake.   A little solar light is enough to find your dock, plus there is GPS these days.

I'm confused and intrigued. Is this a thing?!? Are they eating all of the walleye fry? We should have the DNR oil their eggs... :D
