On the lake Wednesday-Friday this week.  Plowed roads are about the same as 2 weeks ago except there is a road that goes between Birch Island and Ely Island and ends at somebody's cabin in the middle of the north side of Ely Island.  This road may have drifted over after Thursday's light snow and high winds.  Many of the spur roads drifted over as shown in the 2nd photo (drifts got 3 times worse on this road overnight).  Was fun watching the blowing snow on Thursday from the comfort of my fish house.  The water came up only 1 inch under my house.  I had 30 inches of ice outside my house (including 6 inches of white ice).  I did find some slush under snowbanks around my house, so be careful if you go off road (snowmobiles should be fine anywhere).  Enjoy the lake and be careful and courteous.

Got over 10 inches of snow in Soudan Wednesday night to Thursday morning.  I was worried about downed trees on the snowmobile trail from Soudan to McKinley Park so I drove my snowmobile on the road.
