Come on, it's the middle of April.

Enough is Enough!

Its like a whole different time zone once you get into the northern half of the state.  I went to visit in laws in Brainerd yesterday and everything within 50 miles of the Twin Cities was completely bare ground with lakes completely ice free.  Lake Minnetonka went ice free on Friday, April 15 which is only 1 day past its average date.

Once I got to Brainerd, there was still some snow on the ground although it was primarily just piles of it.  All of the lakes are still completely locked up in ice and they really don't look that close.  The shorelines have pulled away in a few spots, but I think it will be May before they completely melt.  Mille Lacs isn't even very close either.

This happened in 2018.  We got a blizzard in mid April and by Memorial Day it was already 90 degrees.  Spring was basically non-existent that year.  We went directly from winter to summer.  I would personally prefer to not go down that road again this year.  It wouldn't bother me if I didn't have to use my AC until the 4th of July.
