What's up with Marcum?

What's up with Marcum, it doesn't seem like much of their products are anywhere in stores?  

Even in the sale sites like FB Market place their selling a lot cheaper then used Vexilar's?  

Like  LX5 is going for $100 less then a Vex FL-18.  Might be that the graphs are still selling but their flasher sales seem to be going away?  I'm a Vex guy anyway, just seemed to notice not much in the way of Marcum's out there?

It will be interesting to see what happens to company's like Vexilar and Mar-cum as all the other company's come out with live imaging in the ice market. I doubt Vexilar would ever come out with any sort of digital fish finder compatible with live- Imaging. I have used Vex's and love them and it's impossible to ever see them going away with the durability factor and affordability. Just interesting things to think about...

Well here's the thing about that.  There are tons of young and new ice fisher folks out there just starting out that can't or never will be able afford a $2,799.99 Livescope.  Or a $700 MarCum MX-7GPS graph. 

Some of them can't even afford a $159 old used beat up FL-8. I know because I have sold a few and the young guys that try and low ball you or trade the oddest stuff they have is crazy, " no dude I don't need a home made minibike"   But they still want to get out on the Ice.   I agree, Vex's just will not die!

i have 2 marcum products, their underwater camera and the LX7 and really like them. i also have my wifes fl8.

never interested?  have you seen them in action?  I am sure the guy that first saw the green box thought he would never use such a tool...technology advances and eventually you will see why it is so popular, and then next thing you know you will be using one!  Never is a strong word!

Yea I know it is. I seen my buddy's helix 7 work this summer with the chip. 

 

I want one, but am fighting with myself if I really need/ want it.
