Verizon Internet Access on the lake?

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine booked me for fishing next week without confirming I could take work off.  I do remote I.T. work and can work pretty much anywhere as long as I have internet access.  So I'm thinking about going ahead and going.

He said it's River Bend Resort and we're going about 8 miles out.  Does anyone know if internet access on a Verizon Cell phone works out on the lake?  I could use it as a hot spot and use my laptop and that way be able to go. Otherwise, I'm going to have to tell him no.  I can't take work off right now.

Verizon seems to work the best in the area.  Texts are often slow and voice is sometimes tough the further out you go.

Welcome to FM @MNBobcat.

Let us know how it goes out there. Pics are always appreciated.

Thanks Hoey for the info.

MNBobcat; I’m currently on LOTW and have no issue getting three bars of LTE with Verizon in the shanty. Best of luck and enjoy your trip.

I streamed the MN HS Hockey tournament on Verizon last weekend, Verizon works great, if not it's most likely  your phones antenna.
