Holland Lake

Recommended Posts

How is the trout fishing and does it get pressured heavily during the winter? Are there any decent sized specimens in the lake?

I'm considering getting a stamp & checking it out if there's a possibility of decent sized fish. It's been a bunch of years since I've fished trout thru the ice. The last season I did we caught several on Courthouse that were small and one nice 1 on Christmas. I'm totally cool with quality over quantity and any info will be appreciated.

In all honesty, it’s probably already fished out. Metro trout don’t last very long once the winter season opens. There might be a few left, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Your better driving to Grindstone Lake, where trout actually survive to a 2nd and 3rd year.

If you do go to Holland, be careful...I seen several pics of people that had fallen into spear holes on opening weekend that were unmarked along the shoreline. Luckily they were in very shallow water.

Thanks for the heads up! I agree that the put & take lakes get depleted quickly. It was just a thought and it's close to the crib.
