The Whistle Binkies Warm Up to the Polar Plunge Ice Fishingcontest is this coming Feb 1st from 12:00 Noon – 4:00 P.M. at Whistle Binkies South in Rochester MN. This is just one of many great events happening all day at Whistle Binkies to benefit Special Olympics.

 

Entry fee is $10, with an optional $1 big fish pot. Half of the entry fee will be donated to Special Olympics with the rest paid out to the winners. Big fish pot is winner takes all. Contestants can weigh a total of 4 fish composed of any combination of crappie, sunfish or perch. Big fish pot is open to any legal species. Registration begins anytime after 10:00 A.M. in the main building or 11:00 on the ice at the far end of the lake – ask for Eric Korman.

Both the weather and fishing was great for this year’s contest. Everyone that weighed in had 4 quality gills. A few of the 23 contestants were just 0.1 lbs out of the money. 

 

RESULTS:
1st - Ryan Flanders - 1.81 lbs
2nd - Josh Chapman - 1.77 lbs
3rd - Braden Predmore (young angler!) - 1.73 lbs
Big Fish - Paul Kramer - 1.59 lbs Bass 

 

Thanks to all that participated! $173 was raised for Special Olympics!
