Lake Conditions

I thought about putting the boat in by Cold Spring but a huge ice jam is in the landing. I would not trust that ice for anything.

Fished Leech Lake for perch today, went out on Pine point with wheelers. In the morning the ice was perfect for cruising. On the way back we were busting through the top layer of ice and struggled to get through a large area by Goose island, even with tire chains. There was also some bad spots right in front of the landing. Fishing was decent, got as many walleye as jumbo perch plus a few pike.

drove past the chain today. the river is completely ice free. a couple shallow bays are also open. stopped at the camp woody bridge and the creek on the west side of long and didn't see any fish swimming.

I tried to get out on the Cold Spring access today. I could not get the boat deep enough to float off before the car was under water no go. Went to Koronis and got out there in the bay for a short little put with the boat.
