Well next week the wife and I are going up to the Alex area for a ice fishing vacation. I think I may have to come up with another plan! are there any lakes up there that someone plows or you can pay a access fee? I'm assuming they are getting nailed with snow as we are down here. Are there hot lakes that would get more traffic just going for pan fish? Looking more for travel possibilities. Small SUV AWD Thanks for any help.

I'm at the point where I think I'll get a nice hotel room with the wife and enjoy eating out and relaxing.?

I think that's what I may do also we do 1 vacation a year Thursday thru Sunday and rent a hotel no overnight for this couple in a fish house was hoping to fish one lake maybe.

Pike my guess is Reno and Waska in that area will have roads plowed. Hunts resort on Waska usally plows some.  U could call Koeps bait in Glenwood or Christophers Bait in Alex they should be able to steer you in the right direction.

Head of the Lakes resort on Lake Osakis!!!  give them a call, they will take care of you!!  I live 1 block away so I see it...

Yes you can, and sometimes they wave the fee if you are getting food, drink and bait there...  plus some plowed roads too...

they rent them there too!!  there is an 800 I think on their website.  other wise I can get ya number...  have fun!!

Very good qyality panfish lake although they can be very finicky.

      application has been submitted. 👍   Leech......i've shot my share of bear......it be nice to get another but not the end of the world if i dont. i get to spend time with my son...its just another way to get into the woods. i've been at it since about 1976......that rush when you walk up to the bait and see the logs scattered all over and bait gone just doesnt get old for me.   i had to get rid of 1 rug because of bad tanning. i have another rug, shoulder mount and made 3 pillows from 2 different bear hides. my biggest issue has become what to do with the hide....that seems more of a trophy then the meat. i inquired 1 year at the Alex decoy show when there were a couple hide guys there and they didnt seem to interested. 🙄 i have no other ideas for the hide.......approval from the wife is not even negotiable!!!!!

      Something in May, like around Opener.  Could be white knuckles for boaters that weekend with the way things stalled out since the contest started and how thick it still is.   Highs in the 50’s coming but lows are around freezing and not a lot of wind in the extended forecast.   I’ll tell  ya what, if you change from 4/26 and it hits that date, I’ll buy ya some mythical FM beer.  And you know where you can find it. 😉. But don’t change on my account - this is still a free country!

      I caught the 10pm news the other night. They said that starting next week Minnesota will be above average for temps. I give them a 33% chance of getting that right.
