I was seeing that at home today and there were/are a TON of road closures south of the Cities.  Our snow hasn’t even had much opportunity to melt and set up.  So much powder and then these huge winds.

Maybe it’s just us older guys that have been stuck too many times that have learned our lessons??  Some people are offering up to $500 to get help off and yet others are saying they’re trying to find a way ON the lake with their houses.

Sometimes you just gotta say put a fork in it.  At least for a while anyway.

oh yea..........been down that road more then once. after a couple times shoveling your way off a lake or outta slush cause you thought you were invincible the light finally turns on!!!!!!!!

This is too bad this had to be cancelled because of snow conditions.  I was looking forward to going this year.  I was finally going to be around.

I think I will still give the chain a shot this weekend, and just use the sled to pull the shelter around.  Then I can be more mobile then parking at the cabin and walking or just driving the truck "close" to the spots.

Good luck!  It is s bummer but really didn't have much of a choice for a big group.  Looking forward to a report.

I gave it a try on Saturday.  I'm lucky, I live right off the trail between Cold Spring and Richmond, so I just took the sled the whole way.  This is the first time I've pulled the sled via the sled :) I need to figure out a way to keep the snow from getting into the sled.  There was quiet a bit of snow in the sled.  Maybe there's no really good way around it, and I'll just have to deal with it.  It was only a minor issue after getting to my spot.  I tried the spot east of the "methhole" in 27' of water where the break cuts back to the north, this had been a productive hole.  I drilled about 15 holes, and decided what the heck, I'll try this one.  Saw a few marks when I first drilled the hole.  I got out there around 4:30, and was setup and fishing about 20 minutes later.  I was getting marks on both units, and even some interested fish, but nothing wanted to commit.  I was dead sticking with a minnow head on a glow jig.  The last two times fishing seems to have SLOWED big time.  Two times out before that I caught 15+ fish in a few hours.  Maybe next time I'll try the hole west of Cedar Island.  Has anyone tried the narrows of the river before you would head east towards Cedar?  Last time I took the sled through there it was a slushy mess under the snow, although I did see one guy out there with a portable and a wheeler on tracks.

I gotta assume the pressure has been diminished off the chain over the past week or two, so the fishing has to come back.  It's crazy how many holes were drilled earlier this year along the east side of the main horseshoe peninsula.

Anyways, here's some pics or it didn't happen.

Well at least you got out to fish.  It's been 2 weeks for me and hoping to get out again soon.
