I think he was asking about Two Harbors-harbor.

If that’s the case then the max depth in the harbor would be 60’ most area being in  the 30’-40’ range. Target species would be Coho salmon.

Yes, I was referring to Two Harbors. For some reason, I never knew that was a place where ice fishing was an option.

Most years it’s an open water thing. But when we get cold spells ( days when highs aren’t above zero and lows in the -20s) or ( like this last week) it freezes and if the winds stay down, it’s fishable but most times it’s not the most safe.

Lot of people giving Two Harbors a try right now.

Seems like folks clear out around Noon.  When the first link was posted I watched guys walking off and packing up while eating my lunch. Now at 3pm, just the 2 shacks and no visible vehicles.

In the Duluth area, probably close to a dozen portables and at least as many bucket fishers off of 21st Ave area this weekend.  I haven't driven by that area this AM,  we had a good NE come through last night, so I'm not sure what the current conditions are like.

Looks like Two Harbors blew out.  It’s snowing and it all looks like open water where I saw the shacks set up for the past couple days.

I know you North Shore guys have always stated it, but man, that’s fickle.  Here one day, gone the next.

Were people able to access the ice off Brighton Beach this past weekend? Thanks for any info, I am a little over four hours away and it is hard to find any information anywhere else.

With last nites snow and the forecast for 7-12 more inches tomorrow ,,, I'm not sure how the ice will hold up ,,, Was hoping to get out there but my respect for the big lake tells me not to go out there alone ,,,, Good Luck to those who make it out there

Doing a drive-by the other day, it was chunky with a lot of ridges near/at shore, with either really clear ice or pockets of open water further out. I  didn't bother investigating it any further, and no fishers present.

Posted on 2/6 - From Superior Angling Co...

"It was a close call for an unsuspecting angler on Lake Superior today out of Duluth, MN. Luckily they were able to swim back to the thick ice and get out.

USE CAUTION, especially with the high winds we will be having over the next 48 hours. There is a lot of dangerous ice out on the lake."

Seen a few portables out on the Two Harbors webcam. How is the ice looking at the Lester or French Rivers?
