@gimruis  Agreed, small water craft is needed for rivers! And yes should always be were life jacket. I have it with  me at all times but yes guilty of not wearing it.

@Wanderer  no floating weeds or moss on my stretch. Its been really good over the years. If anything the cotton woods are annoying. The worst when trying to cast! Glad you enjoy the vids. Not sure if you watch my channel but I post weekly fishing vids. I just only post a video once in while on here. either way, good luck fishing this summer!

I checked online and it’s all sold out. I was hoping someone knew of a little store that had a few boxes.

Have you tried on line?  Like Midway USA?     I’ve called around locally before heading to a store, like at the beginning of the pandemic to find out if what I wanted was there.  Otherwise most of my shopping for things I don’t wear starts with Mack’s Prairie Wings and Rodgers Sporting Goods.  I haven’t checked those two for rifle ammo though.

I’ll be on Birch Lake - Ely - in late July. Anyone familiar with good spots?

We bring a weather and an FM radio. Cell phone coverage is sporadic, but you can find a signal almost anywhere (but usually it originates from Canada). Bad weather can come in a hurry, so it is nice to be able to know what is coming in advance.

Do you know anyone who reloads? Ammo has been bought up with the civil unrest currently going on.

I would agree with James about tough bite. The last few days have been tough. You wont see those mayflies in Big Bay, because they all hatched last week. We have had high heat no wind to go with mayflies, then fish flies so I think that explains the problem. It will get better soon as minnows become primary food source for eyes. Wont see you out there for a while as I have to leave for a week. Good Luck !!
