:wow:there is a mess being created out there ladies and gentleman. Be careful. Slush is sneaky. It looks like March out on the ice, not January. Deep slush and standing water, tricky conditions for vehicles and people. Saw a lot of flooded houses today in four mile bay.

Fishing for our group was the same as it's been all season. So Slow It Hurts.

But it sure was fun to be able to fish outside.

On a side note, I picked up nearly a dozen boards left behind from wheelhouses. With all this water and slushy conditions, I agree boards are needed. Just please take them with you or chisel them out. These things can cause a lot of damage to some expensive equipment come open water....

Fished outside again all day today. Hats off and much respect to the resort guys, they smoothed that road and access out better than ever.... Found some active fish today. Absolutely nothing to get online and lie about it, just some fish.

Weather was great. Enjoyed it.

There is still an epic amount of slush folks. Be very careful. Standing water so deep the wind creates waves on it.

I found fish on Friday like the old days it was a lot of fun but I decided not to deal with the slush and the sled on Sat.  I heard that may of been a good decision because I heard people burning out their sleds in the slush, running them wide open just to barely move.

Nothing like sledding in a rain storm, I guess to find them it has to be painful.

If there was a wind on Sunday there would have been waves in some areas.  We drove our trucks through 6" of water or more in some spots (many spots were dry) and had water gushing up out of some holes in some areas.  Fishing was OK for us but nothing to brag about.  We had a good fish fry and brought a meal or two home, depending on the side dishes.

What a difference a day makes.  Fishing was very slow today.  Biggest I caught was only 13 inches.  Marked a lot of fish but couldn't get very many to bite.   The wind was very strong today and did cause a little bit of drifting, but travel is still good on the latke.  Just avoid the snow banks and drifts.  Saw one house get pulled off the lake, and didn't see any new houses come out before I left the lake at 4pm.  Lots of snowmobiles and trailers in Tower.  At least the city and lake will be busy with those.   Good luck fishing if you go out the last weekend of the winter season.

Ice condition didn't change much in the last week as shown in the McKinley Park photo from today.  The holes in my house froze all the way down in the last six days; 40 inches of ice now.  I drilled my two holes 24 inches and cleared the shavings out before reaching water.  Much cleaner way in a permanent house.   Fishing was pretty good today.  Caught two 24" walleyes, including the 5#-7oz fatty pictured.  Also caught a 19 incher.  Best bite was from 11 to noon.  Much better action with chubs than shiners today.  Never tried the pike suckers I had.   Good luck fishing the last weekend this winter.  Going to be very windy Friday, but drifting shouldn't b a problem since there is no loose snow on the lake.  Saturday and Sunday look to be very warm.  Still about 35 houses left out from McKinley Park.

Too bad she’s after big game when she leaves home.  Your one eyed trouser trout might not lure her in. 😉
