Founds some ice today at Zippel Bay Resort

I am sure that Bostic Bay has some skim ice also. Good ice soon is not a reality but we can hold off insanity by looking at some ice?

You are right about Bostic Curt...lightly iced over. However, the only ice we saw heading across 4mile in the boat, was a bit of ice in the bulrush patches. None on the river or lake.

 

Latest I have been on the lake by a couple weeks. What a day! On the lake around 11:30 and tried a few depths out of the gap with only a couple little ones. Moved to the west end of pine and as the day went on, the fishing got better and better. Also, the clouds disappeared and the wind went dead calm. It was really nice. Glad to see the weather man was wrong in the right direction for a change. Three of us kept 12 eyes and our saugers and released many, many more. By the time the sun was at the treeline the bite was about non-stop. Days of old! No other boats on the lake after about 2. Awesome way to end the open water season and a great sign for a good ice bite. Nice fish, but no biggies. Water temp 36.
