Baxter & Long Lake & Francis

Went to Baxter yesterday(12/22/16). Fished from 10am to 12:30pm. Drilled a line of holes and marked fish in 8' FOW, and I set up my house. Ice was 7" where i was checking with a tape measure. Caught over 30 sunnies and 1 crappie and kept the 11 shown. I tried crappie and fathead minnows under a bobber for a while on 1 rod with no luck. Other rod had a spring bobber with a small tungsten plain glow color jig with red euro larvaes catching fish fast and furious! So, I put away the minnows and grabbed my other rod with a spring bobber and tied on a tiny perch colored jig (chartreuse, green, and black stripes) with wax worms, and it was on like donkey kong! I would catch a good 3 or 4 in each hole, then when it slowed, I would reel up and put the waxies down where the euros were and vice versa, and catch another 3 or 4.

Not a bad way to spend a couple hours before going to work!!!
