Hunkering down over key structure, or proven forage routes is always a great option. With these cold temps. and winds I doubt many will be hole hoppin' until this cold weather subsides. Good luck Chris.

4 guys, half- day at $80 bucks seems very reasonable, Weathertite. Even $80 a person isn't bad.

there were a few brave souls out this morning. only permy type houses I saw were sitting out by schuellers.

question, past the spot where you dive on both lakes, that bay everyone shore fishes in the spring, by that island there seems to be a lot of activity. what looks like a collapsiable house and several portabiles where out there. how deep is the water there and what could they be fishing for????????

Smurfy- Good to hear from you isn't quite the same on the chain as years past. Remember the cluster of permanent houses in Mertens bay.  Looked like a city out there Now its a ghost town most years A lot of good resorts are gone remember Joeseys and Balsams  resorts. I would assume they are fishing crappies off the break if they are on the N side of  the island. Another thought is they are trying the sunken island for eyes. Ill give them a thumbs up if they get eyes off that island looks good. I even investigated it with the camera nice rocks  but tried it many times and it never seems to produce well.

yea I remember those cities. I may have been part of that.:D not sure if we are thinking the same place. this is the bay just south of what use to be know where alexanders use to live up on top of that hill!

other thing I noticed is there are no spearhouses set up along the break near the highyway????? early season my brother and I occasionally would set up there and would see some nice pike on occasion.

Water clarity has become an issue from time to time smurfy. Nice hearing the walk back down memory lane with you and Icehawk.

Now I know the spot.  They are getting a few sunfish along that flat right off the island  Not many there Iv'e fished it and  not enough to keep me interested. Reason there is not many spearhouses out on the chain  is that tradition has slowly started  to fade away, plus most hardcore spearfishing guys around home target Green and Millacs now.

Thanks for the info guys , I have my usual spots but am always looking to add more spots to the option book.

Thank you for the feedback Tom , I thought that was a pretty reasonable price to pay to catch some fish and and get some new waypoints.

Thanks Mike
