Here is a snow depth map from the DNR.  We have around 4-5in in Ely.

In the course of 24 hours here in the twin ports our St Louis river went from no ice any where to about 60-70 skim covered.. WOW

I Hope that you are able to get out , Just please keep your safety first and foremost in your mind. No fish worth drowning for. If you do make it out please let us know what you find for Ice and fish.Thanks Mike

Coon Lake, Anoka Co. Yesterday white caps, this morning again Ice. +1 deg. overnight made the difference. Not sure how thick, but its Iced over. Forecast not looking too good to add additional ice over next 2 weeks. Might be walkable by mid Jan. Makes for a really short season.
